As a responsible corporate, we believe that we have a critical role to play in addressing and finding meaningful solutions to solve socio-economic problems widespread in today’s society. In this regard, this reporting year, we sponsored the production of a series of intellectual discourses on national television. Moderated by Dr. P A Kiriwandeniya, our Chairman, the programme invited well-respected and erudite personalities in our society to share their perspective on pressing and current social and economic issues. The eight half an hour programmes were aired on poya days on Swarnavahini from August 2016 onwards. The discourses dealt with a wide array of topics including the importance of embracing a healthy lifestyle, the role of language in effective communication, irrigation and water resources for agriculture development and waste management and environment conservation.
